It also brought about the #MeToo movement in The Gambia where a lot of other women came out to speak about their own experiences. The hashtags include #IamToufah, #SurvivingMelville, #Gambiana, and #JusticeForMama. These hashtags are a symbol of the bravery of women speaking about their experiences, fighting for justice, advocating for change and breaking the culture of silence in The Gambia.
